Here is Zane's one month photo - it was taken in a folding fabric frame chair in Zane's room that Paul has had since before we met. We'll take Zane's picture in this same chair every month so we have a reference point for how much he's growing (thanks, Jessica, for that idea).
At his one month appointment, he weighed 9 lbs 6 oz, and is 22.5 inches long. He has an umbilical hernia (no cause for concern), but is perfectly healthy otherwise. Umbilcal hernias are common in infants, are not painful or harmful and typically resolve themselves in the first year.
In related news, we're seeing the beginnings of a schedule - he now eats, is awake for a while, and then usually naps for 1.5 hours or so. The last 2 nights, he has gone 4 hours between feedings, allowing Paul and I the most sleep we've had in the month since Zane's arrival. Our only difficulty these days is getting him to sleep when he's tired. Even when swaddled, rocked and given a pacifier, it takes 20-60 minutes to put him to sleep each night. When he's not fighting sleep, he is a happy baby making new discoveries every day!
