He is such a joy every day and I can honsetly say this has felt like the fastest moving year of my life! This week, Zane was "promoted" from the infant room at daycare to the toddler room. He wasn't next in line according to age, but he was ready in every other aspect AND was the only baby who would visit the toddler room for more than a few minutes without having a meltdown when they needed to balance the ratios between the rooms.
He spent most of the day in the toddler room Monday and Tuesday, and then we officially moved him to all day beginning Wednesday. While he looked a bit concerned to be dropped off in the new room at first, sitting down to breakfast at the table with the other toddlers seemed to cure his anxiety.
His new teachers already adore him, and his previous teachers all stop by to visit at least once a day. I think he is the only one in his room not walking yet, but he has no problem keeping up with the group (I wonder what the record is for speed crawling). He eats at the table (no high chair), uses a sippy cup, naps on his mat (no crib either), sits in the circle for story & song time, colors his own art masterpieces, and gets to take trips to the soft play room now. The "soft play" room is a large room with foam steps, slides, ball pits, etc. for them to play on without the worries outside play equipment can bring.
The directors have been kind enough to take and share photos of Zane in his new class the last couple of days, which is so incredibly thoughtful and truly appreciated. Here is one of him in the soft play room today - looks like he's loving his new surroundings!
